  1. Will ACL for Meego run on the Nokia N9 also or only on tablets ? We need a concrete answer as the only video we can see is on a tablet…

  2. Thank you all for your comments and kind words! Our engineering team at OpenMobile is diligently working on multiple platforms, including ACL for the Nokia N9 MeeGo Smartphone. Thank you for your interest in ACL™. Keep checking back to the blog for further updates and information as we are able to release it!

    Best,
    The OpenMobile Team

    • That looks cool!

Any timeframe for a beta release, or anything like that? Even a rough one would be cool, as we are all used to awsome projects that just end up as vapourwares. Would be nice to know at least if people will be able to try a testing version this year, or not before 2015. :]

      Keep up the great work.

    • Thanks! I’m super excited about this! This is despite the fact that it’s still evidently earlidays especially for N9′s Meego Harmattan and you seem to be announcing this just go gather public attention. I believe all N9 owners will hail you as heros if you do deliver, but do you mind giving some of more details? We have already been burnt by Alien Dalvik. You you actually have N9′s to test ACL on etc? If not, I blieve the N9 community will be more than willing to provide unconditional support, including donating devices and beta testing with in depth report of issues etc. Please don’t do an Alien Dalvik! N9 owners are counting on you!

  3. This is awesome news for the Nokia n9 owners! We waited this like support from the begin! Alien dalvis had to make it but they didn’t.. Or something happeden in the Nokia..

  4. Keep on trolling ACL, that’s all you ever do…
    Pure and unadulterated vaporware peddlers.
It will all come un-done soon enough….

  6. Absolutely fantastic, so happy to hear that you are working with a version for the great Nokia N9 mobile. Can´t wait for the release!

  7. @Leila

    This tells us nothing…..
We need a demo of it working nicely on the N9/950!
They’re the only two truly commercial MeeGo devices.
Vanilla MeeGo AKA MeR+Nemo doesn’t count!

  9. please don’t just let this end with an announcement! the whole N9 community is really counting on you guys! amazing work. could you show us a video of ACL running on the N9?

  10. is there any chance you could tell us anything about a possible release date ? or a public beta ? i’d love to participate in the betatest (got my N9 ready =P) also i could write about it online so you get more customers =) i hope i’ll hear from you =) can’t wait to try it out =)

    with best regards.

  11. Hi, This is amazing, keep up the good work ! will get it for my N9 immidiately !!
. Will it require flashing the phone ?? Or can it simply be installed as a program ????

  12. Will it be compatible with the new Meego 1.3 version? When can we expect it?
Thanks for the efforts, looks nice…well needed!!

  13. Very excited about the Meego ACL guys, the concept is undoubtedly feasible and from a business perspective I can see that a lot sales would be made to Nokia phone owners based on the clear lack of apps. Even though the N9 Meego is effectively a dead end device there has still been a high number of sales and I can imagine that every N9 owner would want a copy of this software.

Hopefully the wheels fall off the Windows-Nokia flagships and they are forced to go back to something that actually works!!

I, like many others, wait with bated breath and an open wallet!!

  14. We so patiently await even the hint of progress towards ACL’s release and some days I find myself checking here several times. It wound be encouraging to have words from the team once in a while, but will settle for a more speedy release :) . Thanks in advance for all your hard work. I also look forward to the day we get to open our wallet!

  15. If OpenMobile will really make it possible for Nokia N9 – the only of its kind – to run Android Apps, I will be honoring you OpenMobile guys truly! Alien Dalvik made promises they did not keep, but this could be a different case. Looking forward to it! I surely would be willing to pay a decent price for being able to have MeeGo on my phone and still having the chance of running Android Apps.

  16. I second the above comment. Amazing effort, would be very worth it to both the n9 users as well as Open Mobile company. Some additional information about the product would be nice given no word since June.
    Thanks

  17. This is very much appreciated! You can actually use this to compete with the iOS and the android itself. Meego Harmattan is a very wonderful OS only if it would have the vast apps the two superpowers have. If this project would be completed, OpenMobile will definitely become a superstar.

  18. This will never be a waste of resources for OpenMobile. Please do not be like the AlienDalvik who thought of greed before innovation.

  19. this is brilliant when is the mother of all app store gonna come
    im desperate
i love my n9 but lack apps in 2012 it just impossible
    go n9
